Names can mean so much to some or do they really….while your parents chose your everyday name many people are blessed with creative friends who tag you with a name…a nick name…One, none the less, that will be noticed and sometimes stick and be carried on! I grew up known to family and friends as Kristen; unless my grandmother was talking to me…then I was Debbie (my mother’s family nick name, one she hates!) Note I waited till I had my little girl to hear my name more often than not from the lips of my grandmother :) How sweat is that! Or my grandfather’s endearing term “Turdbird”….yep…you read that right…I told you creative minds were at work! My mother actually had wanted to name me Cora Lee and at the time was convinced it was too common…talk about funny….I was definitely NOT the only Kristen in my class growing up! So Kristen it is…Kris if it family and some friends, the real ones :). I really do like the name Cora, enough that if we have any more children (yes I know…inevitable)…so ok…WHEN we have more kids…if it is a little girl I’m gonna try hard to convince Robbie (The hubby who is Robert…see…family nick name…Rob by his friends…) that it is cool! For a little boy I really really like the name Hunter but haven’t come up with a middle name I like with it…so we will see…And oh yeah….I guess I need to talk to Robbie on that one :) Our little girl…She is Savannah Skye…to me, “Monkey”…to Daddy, “Baby Girl”…So I ask….what exactly is the point of a name, when it is replaced by a version if not a completely different form once your personality has been established and tagged! :) I love the name Savannah but I’m just waiting for the day when she says “mom it just isn’t cool…I wanna be called….____ (I’m hoping Skye is different enough she might go there…but not holding my breath)
I do believe I have rambled on enough…and if you haven’t guessed it by the direction this went YES I want more kids…at least one….just NOT right now :):) So I have plenty of time to decide on that perfect name that will be butchered and reshaped as time goes on!

We are big on nickna,es in my family…I am 34 soon to be 35 and my uncle still calls me sniffles and my dad still calls me baby girl. Each of my kids has several nicknames which in a family of 9 kids can get confusing to outsiders
Now Savannah Skye has a magic to it. I love it!
You never know though. Neither of my boys changed their names (and the oldest insists on going by his formal name; no nicknames for him and the second one’s name isn’t up for making a nickname out of); but my daughter did shorten hers.
Acually I managed to grow up without any nicknames which I was a bit disappointed about. But when I was very little my aunt used to call me Karooch so i picked that for my online name.
I love Cora and Hunter. I had to have a laugh about “if” you have more kids. I’m still convincing DH for another. That would make 4 running around. I have my work cut out for me.
So my name on this thing was given to me by you and I’m sure you know how many nick names I have. Hals, Holls, Hols, Shorty, Squirt, Holl. Then there are those for my Savannah…Savannah Banana, Baby Girl and I’m sure I’ve said some others…haha
I just stumbled by your blog - I like the way you’re set up! I LOVE your birthday cake! I have bookmarked you for further visits! (after our move of household .. sigh…) Barb (Mrs. Miles)
