My indulgence last night!! and a Toot!!

Ok…so I’m way way tired of this class so do you think I tackled homework last night? ummmmm….NOPE!! ***WARNING for the saintly student to read any further would be a MISTAKE****

The closest I got to homework was to figure out what grade I would have if I just forgo this paper altogether!! Sad huh! Well I can still get a B+ even without it! So yep..I’m going to be the horrible student and not do it! That decision made I wanted to play! So I scrapped!! I had gotten this amazing kit Genuine from BannerWoman (I’m a CT girl so I really need to get in gear and use it!) Then of course I’m a doodle freak so I incorporated some of LaLa’s swirls, and to top it all off…I thought duh…how about do another Wardrobe Makeover for the challenge at The Digi Shoppe! Put all three together and this is what you get! Ok…gotta start at the beginning!

Kits used and links if you’d like to grab them:

And here is the makeover using my new fabulous stuff infused with my new quirky style!

Long winded update (worth it I swear)! And gotta do my own blog prompt!! :)

Ok…so…some updates, and not a short quickie like lately…If you’ve read the quickie posts though you know that school is about over…at least for a bit! WOOOO HOOOOO!! I need a break. I haven’t scrapped, or taken pictures…my two big loves of the moment (crafty wise that is) So before long I’ll be able to join back in on my Paparazzi Challenge on a regular basis and darn it I started the Backstage Pass challenge to get my butt to step out of Auto mode on my camera and have I been able to play?? Nope!! But that one is a monthly challenge so I WILLL get there!

As for the rest of my life…well…the move was smooooth sailing!! We are in and settled…now the hard part…We are painting most of my mother’s house before we move Grandma and Cathy in…so…three weeks to paint a 3000 square foot home!! That is a lot of paint…so far we are up to I think about 20 gallons of paint…and I’m sure that number will grow…but it is for grandma and mom so it is worth all the pain and toil…hello..I’m too young to be falling apart!! On the new house we haven’t done much…Mom and Todd are replacing the carpet to something my grandmother likes so we are gonna move the current piece into Rob’s “Man room” Which equates to the Garage :) ohhh…and we have finally picked out a bed we love…and we may be able to get the whole set!! Here is a picture of the bed to be (hopefully)!

Isn’t it just toooo pretty!!!!

So that will obviously finish off our bedroom makeover except of course the paint!! But I’m thinking the paint is gonna wait a while especially after painting Mom’s house!

Obviously I’m on a makeover streak!! Even in blog and scrap world…I rescraped a layout I’d done of my husband that I just wasn’t ever really happy with…And Girls aren’t you proud of me…I actually got it done in time for the first Wardrobe Makeover challenge over at The Digi Shoppe! Ok..so almost done…I have to scan in his pictures again since I scanned them in for a lower resolution the first time!!

And on the blog news…I bet you are wondering what on earth I have up my sleeve…well…for starters a redesign!! Yep…this is my blog of course so it has to have cool eye candy as the cover not just in the guts!! and I’m soooo excited about it!! And stop before you think great, Just like she has time to add yet another thing to her plate….Well I’ve handed the amazing and talented eWebscapes crew the design job!! And guess what…I even got permission to use a kit from a way awesome scrap designer as the eye candy!! But nope…not telling! You’ll just have to wait and see!! I think the turn around time is about a month, so I’ll be anxiously awaiting the unveiling! So that is the cover but what about the guts..is that gonna change…of COURSE! But only better swear!!! I’m going to start enabling all you fun scrappers even more!! For every layout I showcase on this blog I will also give you small previews of the products I used to create it and of course I’ll link you up to them! So see you get inspiration and an easy way to grab the products to lift it!! (ok so the lifting part is me dreaming….the real reason is so you all can get the amazing products I played with too!! ) Ok…that is enough on the blog changes for now!! More to come!!

I told you I was gonna do the blog prompt so here goes…

“Ok…I know all of us are crafty…at least we all scrap…but do you do any other crafts or artsy stuff?? I wanna know…”

Well obviously I’m crafty enough to scrap but my craft obsession goes way way way beyond that!!!! I started young! There was a small little dream of a huge decorated to the hilt doll house that I got build most of the way but yep…sidetrack one!! I’ve always loved to draw,I even tried my hand a painting (wasn’t so hot at that then…) well the drawing on random pieces of paper progressed the a drawing pad which I STILL fill up with random many times useless drawings! Here is a sample of some of my latest (not the last one was done in 2004 I think… as you can see I’ve been otherwise occupied and not drawn in quiet a while)

Background paper and the frames are all from Sausan Designs…And the two horse pictures are my sketches of prints done by Sherrie Engler.

Well of course I lived and still live in Michael’s stores so I inevitably ended up in the cross stitching isle! Mom got me one of those little starter ones that I think was only like 3 inches by like 5 inches and was mostly background so I didn’t have to do a ton! And of course it had all full stitches (beginners don’t have a clue about quarter stitches, or outlining or any of the other crazy stitches in the craft!) Well I took it home and finished it in a couple days…so my mother and I head to a bonafide cross stitch store…MISTAKE!! HUGE HUGE MISTAKE!! I walk in and I’m in love staring out at me from above the fireplace there is this huge piece of an elegant lady leaning against a tree reading with a lovely cottage and water scene as the background…well…of course you know me…jump in head first I WANT THAT ONE!! So we get it..and all the thread to do it…and I actually FINISHED it!!! (one of the few actual finished endeavors) Yes it took me quiete a bit longer to do (a year) and I had a huge learning curve remember..had more than full stitches in this one! it was advanced!! Lots of undos and several little mistakes that I’m sure most people will never notice, but of course I do, later I have a finished masterpiece! See…This one wasn’t just a bunch of non stitched background!! But I love it!! Well…of course by then we were addicted (as usual my mother and I). We bought patterns and thread galore!!! All sitting in a nice little bag waiting to be finished!

Frame again by Sausan Designs

Then on to Crocheting and my knitting spree…I mostly got addicted to the yarn on this one (my mother is still bit pretty hard on these…at least the knitting) I did finish a blanket (technically two but I didn’t like the last one so I undid it! I know…dork!) I have even done a few scarves…but nothing to rave about…the only one I’d love to rave about is the last blanket I started that yes as you guessed it still isn’t done but wow…look at those colors and that design..just yummy…and the textures! Ok…get over it! It will probably stay in that basket just the way it is for quiet a while longer!

Frame again by Sausan Designs

Next came Scrap booking..the paper kind…I went hog wild and bought bought bought supplies with the best intention of doing a scrapbook for the parents of our wedding…well…I think I got two pages decorated (kinda, they look crappy to me now) NO pictures mind you! There came the abrupt end of that!

I did get back into the painting a bit…the one stroke stuff…have a bunch of paintbrushes, and the technique books for that…I finished a few containers for my grandmother’s and even did the cute little butterfly detail on what my daughters dresser…see…

That stint ended with me painting several christmas ornaments and that was that.

Well the doll house is still sitting there waiting to be done…so I jump back onto that bandwagon and lo and behold can’t afford to decorate it with all those amazing little things like I’d like so….

Next came the polymer clay discovery! OHHHH wow!! I can sculpt!! What started out as a I can do my own doll house accessories turned into a bit more…ok..at least I did finish and even sold several of those but as usual…I’m back to several in the works wishing they were done…part of a dragon, my poor grandpa’s head..and well the not finished baby elf! One day! Really….

Well that actually led me to my photography love…Had to take product shots right…well…that progressed to snapshots of the fam, which showed me I needed a camera that could handle the speed at which my little girl goes! Well…dream come true..I now own the Canon XTi with the 17-55 f/2.8 IS lens! Guess what…I can’t stop Savannah in motion!!!! And you guessed it…me trying to learn about the camera sent me to a site called The Digital Scrapbook Place…They had tips! AND Digi Scrapping!!!

And as you can tell if you are a reader here…I’m hooked!!! So now..I can add digi scrapping to my list of craft loves! Needless to say if I ever get snowed in for months and months, or actually years and years…I have plenty I can do to keep me occupied!

Whew…I’m all caught up!!! And for those of you that actually managed to get through that whole post…here is a surprise…my very first paper pack!!! Easy Peasy!

Now…of course I’ve got my little tid bits :):) I created another layout last night…Thanks Katie for the nudge…it got done because of Katie’s Wordy Wendseday Challenge! You have to go check it out!! Just click here!

And here is my take on it!!! Click on the preview for full Credits! And you have to read the journaling below…it is what makes the layout!

I know you’ve done it..Been walking down the street and seen a person walking their dog and think…wow they just look like they fit..or…couples that just “match” Well…ok…so maybe you haven’t, but I have. As a matter of fact I actually took it a bit farther…we have tagged our pets with the cars they are like…yes, I know I’m nuts!

For example..my cat…Daphney..we think she is the a Hummer in
disguise…

yep…Big, bulky, rough, tough, and that deep rrrrr sound…ok…so you might actually need the sound effects to get it…this is only a layout! No sound…sorry…

And Snickers…yep…an old Model T ford…not only do you have to crank him up to get him started…he runs slow and noisy!

***disclaimer - I am NOT a car expert…or even novice..I am a girl..and sometimes it is all about the looks..ok…not all but in this case mostly***

Me…I’d like to think I was something like this slick sports car..

But alas…I’m sooo not! Right about now I’m feeling more like this bad boy…

Yes…I’m a little on the rough side lately! But truly…on a typical average me day…I think I’ll go with (remember that disclaimer above…I just LIKE IT! The hubby can tell me what it is if I really want to know )

Classic lines with a twist. Loud but not obnoxious. Just an all around fun kind a girl…ohh..um…or car….ok…both
Take it or leave it yall…there I am in all my glory

I’m telling your there is a ton of fun over at The Digi Shoppe…come join us!!!

Ohh…almost forgot…duh…my Hot off the Press for today!!!

For those of you that know me it would be pretty darn close to a no braineron what my favorite animal is…And for those that don’t know me…then…I’ll enlighten you…it is a horse! And more specifically a Friesian! And no worries…for all you non horse lovers going what the heck is that! I have pictures!!! I used to work at a horse Farm in Shawsville, Va called Bent Tree Farm and that my friends was my first introduction into the world of Friesians! Thanks a million to Mrs. Karen Waldron for that chance! Here is a picture of her and her baby!!

And hey…here I am…that is me on Karen’s left!!

See aren’t these guys just GEORGEOUS!!!

And too boot they are way way sweet! Very gentle! They are just dreamy! Now on the do I own one front..no I wish! These guys are on the high side of the price venue! A baby is around $10,000, a trained stallion in the $50,000 range (more with more training) Just to give you a clue! I’m saving my pennies and maybe one day! Done drooling for today :)
