Wonderful wonderful productive world!

Ok…so thanks to my new little home here in web world I have now found out that there is a whole amazing world of PLUG INS!!! Talk about wow! There are tons and they do all kinds of things…so far…I’ve only installed the ones that help me behind the scenes like seeing statistics and such..but that is definitely not the only thing these plug ins can do! Oh duh…guess there is a few out there you all see :):) Like the lightbox one, that makes my cool little thumbnails blow up so you can see them better (Check out the Scraps Page above to see it in action and an update :)) then of course the forms
one…yep…that is the helpful little email tab up there! I’m working on trying to format the Now reading plug in to work in my new amazing little home! That however is gonna take a bit…I’m not the best on code and I sooooo refuse to muck up this awesome redesigned site!! But I’ll get it..eventually Even if I have to ask my little web guru Cynthia for help!! oh and see the little green box at the end of the post labeled share this! Click on that an you can share the post with several Social bookmarking sites like these:

Those little plug ins my friends are going to be awesome little time savers for me…which means more scrapping!! :):) As eluded to above I have updated the Scrap page so go check it out!! I’ll be diligently working on a layout tonight, or at least my part of it!! Yep you guessed it…The Amazing Digi Scrapping Race has the next challenge out there!! And this time my partner Schmoopie and I get to collaborate on one! This ought to be interesting as I’ve never collaborated on anything scrap related before…the closest I’ve come would be picture swaps..but I have a feeling that isn’t going to be much of a primer for this round! Guess I’m one lucky girl to have the knowledgeable, and sweet Schmoopie to help me muddle through it!! Thanks girl!!!

Ohhh…and heck…I guess I’ll actually be tackling two layouts tonight!! I just got the most adorable little product called Quilled Whimsies by Christine Honsinger. See aren’t they just adorable! Click for a larger preview!

Sometimes you just have to have it your way!

Ok…so since classes are out I wanted to try and catch up on my CT fun!! Yes I think of it as fun not WORK!!! These Fabulous desingers give you Awesome products to work with and it is my pleasure to not only use them but by golly show them off and get you other amazing scrappers to go grab them and play!! I provide the inspiration that makes you WANT WANT WANT THEM!!! Soo…Laura White had a new kit Corgen up at My Digital Muse and I Just loved it! So I had to play…Well don’t you just hate it when you get an idea in your head and once it is there it just isn’t right till it is well, Right! I played with the kit and one of the awesome papers has this tooo cool torn and curled edge to it! Well I wanted to tuck something under it and well, it is a flat file not layers…soooo…thanks to the awesome tip from Scrap Girls I was able to realize my vision…and darned if it wasn’t just a way simple thing to do! I had tried every other way more difficult thing to no avail!! Just goes to show the old saying of “two heads are better than one” is soooo true…sooo…enough jabbering…here is that inspiration and even a little mini tutorial to tell you how I accomplished my desire!

Now for the enabling!! You know you wanna grab all this way awesome products!!! ohhh…one of them was a freebie from Christina Renee on NSD in May but I’ll link you up to her post in case it is still available, and while you are there add her to your blog roll…she ROCKS TOO!!

And for that mini tutorial See I didn’t forget!

To get the picture beneath the torn and rolled edge since this was a flat and not layered piece I took my rectangular marquee tool and drew a rectangle around the portion that would overlap the picture and elements. Make a copy of that section and then put a mask on it. I then used a hard brush to erase the majority of what I didn’t want to see and then used a soft brush at an opacity and flow of like 20 to slowly paint away the rest…blending it into the paper so that the shadow was just the slightest bit transparent.
